The Knowledge of God . . .

“I will praise You, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvellous things You have done. I will be filled with JOY because of You. I will sing praises to Your Name, O Most High.” Psalm 9:1

With all that is going on in the world, and the many different perspectives of God verses science, there is an urgent need for us, as Christians, to speak up about our Faith. About Faith in general.

You know, Faith in what God can do, for a Christian, is not blindly walking through life hoping that good things will happen. Having said that, HOPE is A Confident Expectation that Something Good is Going to Happen. But HOPE that is based on a solid foundation in God, whom I KNOW and TRUST.

Getting to know God is not just going to church on Sunday. Which we can’t do at the moment anyway. To be able to KNOW God we must spend time with Him as in any other relationship. Open the Bible today and read the Gospel of John and some Psalms. Psalms 23,27,121, and 139, are good ones to start with. Get to know WHO God is, that He has your back, and all about His unending LOVE. His awesome MERCY and PATIENCE. His amazing GRACE.

I KNOW that God exists, and that He is capable of providing, healing, saving, and delivering me from anything in life. I know because of my own personal experiences. I have had prayer for a bad toothache and it instantly went away. I have prayed for a young girl in pain with cancer, and the pain instantly left. I have met God as His love showed me WHO He is at the birth of my first child. I have had $1,000 placed in my hand (by someone who did not know me or my circumstances) to do what I wanted to do with it. It just so happens that I needed exactly that amount at the time to get our belongings out of storage after we came back from some time overseas. I have had food, clothing, shelter all provided for at times that they were needed most.

Coincidences? I don’t believe in them. God provides. I could go on . . .

I’ve had help with different health issues over the years, and I have been set free from the depressive negativity that overcomes the mind at times in my life. In fact God has changed me from a bad-tempered, aggressive, depressive, negative, pain in the neck, to a way more peaceful, forgiving, understanding and thankful person.

There’s no way we are here on this earth to suffer all the pain, grief and loss, that we do for nothing. The value of human life is far too great to just dismiss it and relegate it to nothing at the end of life. If there is no after-life, nothing to strive for, then why not just allow us all to do what we want regardless of consequences. People these days are looking for ways to live forever. Well, that’s exactly what God wants us to do, with Him, for eternity. Live forever.

I beg every single soul reading this article, to look to God in these very challenging, fearful, and uncertain times. Because the world is only feeding us with all those negative things, we need to search for the ONE who can help us through it all.

God sent His Son, Jesus, to free us from the uncertainty, the fear, the death we will experience for eternity, if we do not turn to HIM for our Salvation, which comes from Him alone through Jesus.

Through Jesus we can be forgiven, we can love and forgive our enemies, which sets us free from fear and anxiety and hatred, which in turn brings peace and hope to our souls.

God did not send this virus, however He often will use times like this to bring us to a place of searching our souls for something more to sustain us, than we have been relying on in the past. Searching for truth will cause change in our hearts, and that’s a good thing, because God always reveals Himself to those who genuinely are seeking for Him.

Walking by Faith . . .

Many of us in the world today have our own ideas of what faith is, and in what or whom we place that faith. Many refer to their religion as their ‘faith’. But to me, faith is so much more than just believing ‘in something’.

My dictionary says Faith is a promise, a trust.

Jesus promised that He would be with us always, so I believe that. If He is walking with me all the time, then I have faith that He always looks after me. I believe He keeps me healthy and safe and helps me with anything He knows I am struggling with at any moment in time.

Of course He does many things in His Own Time, because after all He is God, who sees what the future holds for me, and therefore works in my best interests. Sometimes I can’t see that, and I want instant answers to my problems, therefore potentially creating more problems because of my impatience.

Let’s look at Hebrews 11:1 ~
“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” (NASB)

I cannot hope for something, and not have faith that it will happen. In the same way, I cannot have faith, without hope. In other words, if I am praying for healing, I have hope for that healing, but what gives my hope power, is my faith that healing will occur. My faith that what I am praying for, is the assurance of what I hope for ; it is the conviction, or evidence, of what I do not yet see, but know is going to happen.

All those Jesus prayed for during His earthly ministry received healing according to their faith.

When my children were young, I would pray over them while they were sleeping, and as they grew older, I chose to exercise my faith rather than worry over them, and stood on this scripture ~
“Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6 (NASB)

I believe my faith then, contributed to the fact that now, all my children are serving the Lord. I praise God and thank Him for His Word, which, as I read it daily, continually helps me in making my faith strong.
